About Us

The Southwest Idaho Dahlia Society (SWIDS) was established in 2021 to celebrate the joy of dahlia growing, promote education, and share experiences growing dahlias in the Idaho! In 2024, the society became an official nonprofit organization. With over 100 members, SWIDS is growing the dahlia community! Members benefit from:
  • Monthly member meetings that focus on a variety of dahlia topics. We also have member raffles and giveaways.
  • Monthly newsletters
  • Early access to the SWIDS tuber sale
  • Information and resources shared via the group’s social media pages
  • Collaboration with a community of dahlia growers
The American Dahlia Society (ADS) is a nonprofit organization founded over 100 years ago in 1915, and is comprised of over 70 independent, local societies across the United States and Canada. The Southwest Idaho Dahlia Society is one of those local chapters. We aim to create and foster a community of gardeners that are passionate about growing and cultivating these special flowers.
